Pastoral Council
The Sacred Hearts’ Pastoral Council consists of advisory leaders. The Council has the special responsibility of developing and implementing the Parish Mission Statement. Through surveys, questionnaires and other means of parishioner input, the council is attentive to the needs, hopes and dreams of the parish community.
The purpose of the council is to be a planning council, acting as a forum of consultation, with a special responsibility for dealing with the mission of the parish and the Church by identifying and designing long range and short term goals and objectives of the parish. The Council provides a means of communication among the people of the parish to make their ideas, needs and hopes (both spiritual and temporal) known to Parish leadership. The Council develops ways of surveying the people in order to find out how they feel about different aspects of the Parish and to seek their thoughts into ways of improving the Parish. Another goal of the Council is to develop a relationship among Pastoral Council members which promotes dialogue and an earnest caring for the future of the Parish. The forming of this relationship is critical to the success of the Council. Members serve at the discretion of the Pastor. |
