Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is the largest Catholic fraternal organization in the world. Their purpose is to promote Catholic ideals, support the church and our priests, contribute to youth oriented programs and provide assistance for worthy charities. This organization began in 1882 by Fr. Michael McGiveney and was designed to provide security for the widows and orphans of Catholic parishioners. It has grown far beyond its original purpose. As a global organization, the Knights of Columbus contribute generously to charitable and benevolent organizations and donate money to the Vatican for the Pope’s personal charities.
